Laura and Erik are experienced paranormal researchers and investigators. Since 2015 they have produced of hundreds of paranormal documentaries via their popular YouTube channels The Paranormal Scholar and Laura Rowton.
Laura and Erik are also known for their work in uncovering the hitherto unknown 19th century murder of Jane Blakemore through their feature documentary films, In Search of the Dead (2019) and Jane Blakemore was Murdered (2023).
The Museum is located within the historic, Grade II listed building of Penuel Chapel and Schoolroom. With religious history dating back over 250 years, activity on the site itself can be traced back even further, to 2nd Century AD when the Romans established the town of Moridunum.
The footprint of the Chapel, most especially the lower level of its basement, sits inside the now-buried remains of the town’s Roman walls. Over the course of its history, Penuel Chapel and graveyard have a haunting reputation of ghostly sightings and chilling paranormal activity.
